[ well the reveal of their new reaper friends (?) was kind of a lot. rang causing as much of a ruckus as he did was also kind of a lot. so jonas steps out and decides he needs a few minutes to clear his head. there isn't a lot of room to go anywhere in the city, but a short walk is probably about all he can do at the moment anyway.
he hadn't anticipated running into someone, but it's kind of hard to ignore the fact someone is just sitting on the ground. ]
...Simon, right? You good? [ again, today was a lot. ]
[ he seems a little out of it, similar to friday, though he's definitely jumpier this time now that he's hearing his name, like he thinks someone would only bother to remember it if they were planning to do something to him. ]
H-huh?
[ oh... this guy. jonas was pretty nice when they talked before, and didn't seem to be EXCITED about getting to murder people like SOME people today, so... this is probably okay.
seemingly relaxing a little, he nods. ]
Oh, um. Yeah. I mean— [ a long pause. ] K-kind of?
[ money is next to him entertaining himself with a happy meal toy or something idk i'm not letting this monkey run my life ]
[ simon are you okay. have you ever been okay. jonas looks a little alarmed that he startled him, but likewise he relaxes again as he lets his hands slip into his pockets. ]
Kind of. [ it's a little dry because, yeah, how can any of them be really good after all of this? ] I was hoping we'd meet somebody in charge of the game, but I don't think this is what most of us expected.
Yeah... I thought we'd be dealing with... I dunno, some big powerful bad guy or something. [ like amelia's fantasy. ] But they were... kind of nice, and relatable?
Which, um... didn't actually help that much, 'cause everything else was worse than I even thought it'd be...
[ it's the museum!! and money has been left behind in the warehouse because simon doesn't want to deal with him potentially trying to steal a jewel or something from a display case.
so, he's here on his own, wandering through the dinosaur exhibit. ]
[ it's a fair and valid point to not want money to kin abu in this situation. it's also a fair and valid point to be wandering through a dinosaur exhibit because jonas has been lost in this museum probably for a couple of hours trying to figure out which way he's going.
in a sense, he's kind of annoyed he still hasn't found the actual exit, but at least he's a little more upbeat upon seeing dinosaurs and also a familiar face. ]
Somehow I never get bored looking at these things. [ hello, etc. ]
[ simon gives him a smile, which at least seems to be an improvement from last week. thankfully he hasn't been stuck in here long enough to realize he's going to have a hell of a time finding his way back out, so panic mode is currently on hold.
and he nods in agreement. ]
They're pretty neat, right? ...Though it's also kind of terrifying imagining having to try to tame one of these guys.
[ that's good. that's a start. less panicking the better. ]
Let's not give them any ideas, man. I'm starting to think we really don't know who's out there listening to us. [ haha. ] But no, you're right. It would be...a little worse than the lions out there.
[ do not try to tame the lions in the coliseum either. ]
Well, in some places they do call Sundays a day of rest. Maybe that's all we're allowed. [ is it restful to have to spend the rest of the day thinking about dead lions and sad men? who knows. he considers the question carefully, if only because it took until friday, and someone else pointing it out, for jonas to realize anything was really going on. ]
That part...I'm not sure. I still don't really get how or why this is happening. Like there's the stuff that was affecting all of us, but I don't get some of the other stuff. It feels like nobody else has really figured it out either.
[ fortunately (?) since simon gets pretty bad anxiety about being touched under normal circumstances the fact that he kept going out of his way to hold matsui's hands was obviously Off... though it took longer to realize that this was probably actually happening to everyone and it wasn't just other people pairing off into questionable best friendships.
he nods. ]
Me neither... we never really even figured out for sure what was making so many people sick, did we? O-or why it didn't get us too...
yeah i guess it'd be kind of hard to be like "yeah i'm totally fine" after coming out of an egg but i'll take relatively speaking anyway don't mention it i was just making sure since like it didn't really look too great from where i was standing and after last week...kind of sounds like these little field trips really fuck people up
yeah i don't get why this stuff is happening at all when i asked ruby last week she said it was some kind of special mission but that really seems like bullshit idk about that other one but i'm pretty sure what happened this time didn't do anything good for anyone
hey man you don't have to answer this but i wanted to like...apologize for the trial after the last couple of weeks where we spiraled on the obvious i guess i just sort of started trying to think of what made sense but it wasn't fair to you when we didn't have anything else to link it to so... you know
oh thanks it's ok... we didn't really have any other good answers either and i guess we still don't which feels really bad if i'd known we'd just end up voting for another innocent team i don't know if i would have defended myself so hard
we're definitely lacking answers and it's kind of crazy considering what happened to both of them two people get to go free and we're sacrificing someone who wasn't even involved but...that's the game, i know i don't think anybody could or would blame you for defending yourself though i think most people would in your shoes and if they say they wouldn't they're probably lying
I...really have not decided? Never been on a horse before, and I'm not sure a winged one is a good place to start when we are really high above the ground.
[ also actually eric tell me if you want a more depressing mem or a more angry mem those are the only two handwritten pre-game ones i've got. ]
anyway the park is one of the main places simon tends to hang out anyway, since it's a convenient place for money to run around and work off his energy, so. ]
anyway the park! jonas is here, and here is the current flavortext for pre-curfew stuff.
he. still doesn't quite look normal? it's like halfway between his normal teen appearance and a man in his mid-20s, maybe someone 21-22 age range. some of the scars on his face have reopened, but appear to have been attended to and are slightly more fresh than they were. he's in the green seeds coat so it's hard to see anything else that might have occurred, but there's fresh blood on the back at least. so something happened there. ]
Yeah. Yeah, I think I'm okay. A couple of things opened back up when I left earlier but...should be fine. [ there's a pause, assessing simon briefly. ] ...how have things been here?
Uh... pretty quiet, but I guess maybe that's partly 'cause so many people were gone...
[ looks at him with a slight headtilt... he remembers the weird age stuff that was going on with the very first CYOA group, at least, so he doesn't have much trouble accepting that part of things. ]

[ hello, how are you, did you suffer through that erasure, too. ]

Yeah, I... guess that's true. Kinda sad that we have such a short time window for that, though.
