[ well the reveal of their new reaper friends (?) was kind of a lot. rang causing as much of a ruckus as he did was also kind of a lot. so jonas steps out and decides he needs a few minutes to clear his head. there isn't a lot of room to go anywhere in the city, but a short walk is probably about all he can do at the moment anyway.
he hadn't anticipated running into someone, but it's kind of hard to ignore the fact someone is just sitting on the ground. ]
...Simon, right? You good? [ again, today was a lot. ]
[ he seems a little out of it, similar to friday, though he's definitely jumpier this time now that he's hearing his name, like he thinks someone would only bother to remember it if they were planning to do something to him. ]
H-huh?
[ oh... this guy. jonas was pretty nice when they talked before, and didn't seem to be EXCITED about getting to murder people like SOME people today, so... this is probably okay.
seemingly relaxing a little, he nods. ]
Oh, um. Yeah. I mean— [ a long pause. ] K-kind of?
[ money is next to him entertaining himself with a happy meal toy or something idk i'm not letting this monkey run my life ]
[ simon are you okay. have you ever been okay. jonas looks a little alarmed that he startled him, but likewise he relaxes again as he lets his hands slip into his pockets. ]
Kind of. [ it's a little dry because, yeah, how can any of them be really good after all of this? ] I was hoping we'd meet somebody in charge of the game, but I don't think this is what most of us expected.
Yeah... I thought we'd be dealing with... I dunno, some big powerful bad guy or something. [ like amelia's fantasy. ] But they were... kind of nice, and relatable?
Which, um... didn't actually help that much, 'cause everything else was worse than I even thought it'd be...
I don't think that's really creepy since they invited all of us in the first place. Nobody said we had to talk to them. [ so as far as he's concerned simon did fine. ] I was trying to listen to as much as I could, too, but everybody was talking a lot.
Yeah... and some of them were saying, like, really different things. Like the ones who sounded excited about it [ i.e. the PSYCHOS ], versus the ones who didn't accept any of it at all.
It's really scary thinking about how it's all gonna go once it starts...
It's bad that we're not all on the same page, but it wouldn't be much of a competition if we were. That's the problem. [ its not exactly something to make simon feel better, but jonas is a realist with this kind of thing. ]
Have you had any more thoughts about who you might be able to work with? I wanted to check how you were doing.
Mmm... A few of the people I've met here seem nice, but...
[ anxiously rubbing the side of his neck ]
Um, I'm pretty sure everyone thinks I'd be really easy to kill... which is, uh, probably... true... s-so I don't know if they'd want to risk putting me on their team if I'm just going to drag everyone down by getting horribly murdered.
A-and if there's a group that's nice enough to take me in spite of that, I don't wanna drag them down either!!
[ there's a short shrug. yeah. this literally is not his problem but he has been kind of keeping an eye on some of the people he's spoken to that seemed like they might need extra help finding a team or figuring things out. it's fine. ]
I think...even if it is true--which I'm not saying it is! I have no idea. But even if it is, there are still going to be people who will look out for people who can't defend themselves that well. I was talking about it with this girl, Libby? I don't know if you've met her yet, but she had a similar thought. People here are probably going to want to focus more on getting people out than thinking too hard about risks.
You'd just have to figure out how to work with them as best as you could.
