Mm... What's on your mind?

Too much. [ kind of muffled into his own arms. ] But what else is new? It just...sort of feels like we took the easy way enough even knowing Kyoko was guilty. I think most people still would have voted for her to minimize the damage, but I also think it's going to be hard for some not having answers about the other three people.

[ She hums, thoughtfully. ]

There's a lot we don't know... from all these weeks.

No kidding. [ god. ] But then the question is...how much of that even matters now? Not like we can change the outcomes can we?

Not really. We're just going to have to live with what's happened.

...how're you feeling with this weekend then? Do you think you can live with what we just did?

Dunno. Right now, I'm not thinking so. Maybe that'll change later.

You're not thinking like...purposefully, or metaphorically?

I'm not going to do anything, if that's what you're worried about.

Not what I'm worried about, actually, but good to know. It's one less thing to worry about, actually.

Good. But I don't have an answer to that, really.

Got an answer for why we're laying in the grass then? Seems a little melodramatic even for you.

Hey, I have every reason to be melodramatic. Also that doesn't change that you were down here first.

I'm allowed to be melodramatic if I want.

Sure. You're a preteen, that's like, the right age to start being this way. [ jokes aside... ]

...I get that you're way more than capable of taking care of yourself. You might even be better at it than I am. But I do worry about you. Alright? So. [ ... ] You don't have to explain anything or even give a reason why your melodrama is a valid thing. We can just stay here facedown in the dirt and wait for the earth to consume us.

[ ...no the last part is also still a joke, but it's fine. ]

... Nah, I don't really feel like talking about it.

I won't tell you not to worry about it, but I'll be okay.

Yeah, I know you will. [ you haven't really had much of a choice, have you. and it does bother him, but he's not going to baby her since that doesn't seem like something mizuki's receptive to either. ]

...this game's made all of us do some really shitty things and make shitty decisions. I'd be surprised if any of us came out of this "okay." But we do what we can.

[ he is. very clearly thinking about something but he's not going to broach the topic either. it's. fine. he will simply just sit on the thought. ]

[ She gives him a sidelong glance, a curious look—but ultimately doesn't inquire after she more or less shot him down herself. So, she starts with an affirmative noise. ]

I'm doing what they call... trucking along.

[ given the way she has (technically) lived with him for 150 years, she is probably accustom to what he looks like now when he's resigned to something he doesn't like and exhausted by it. he's still sort of facedown in the grass, head turned just enough to talk. ]

"Keep moving forward" and all that. "Time heals all wounds." If that's even believable. [ but there's a sigh. ] The good thing is we should be just about done. If I'm counting right, the game should be ending and maybe that'll mean we can all stop killing each other for points.

... Home sounds nice. I miss my own bed.

[ he kind of laughs a little at that. ]

Did you guys ever even get beds in your warehouse finally? [ not important, but. ] I think wanting to sleep in your own bed's a totally valid reason to want to go home. It's like...when you go on a vacation somewhere, and at the end of it all you just want to sink back into what's familiar. Even if it's really not that special.

Uh, well. [ to answer that question... ] Somebody gave us one of theirs?
