Yeah, I know you will. [ you haven't really had much of a choice, have you. and it does bother him, but he's not going to baby her since that doesn't seem like something mizuki's receptive to either. ]
...this game's made all of us do some really shitty things and make shitty decisions. I'd be surprised if any of us came out of this "okay." But we do what we can.
[ he is. very clearly thinking about something but he's not going to broach the topic either. it's. fine. he will simply just sit on the thought. ]
[ She gives him a sidelong glance, a curious look—but ultimately doesn't inquire after she more or less shot him down herself. So, she starts with an affirmative noise. ]
[ given the way she has (technically) lived with him for 150 years, she is probably accustom to what he looks like now when he's resigned to something he doesn't like and exhausted by it. he's still sort of facedown in the grass, head turned just enough to talk. ]
"Keep moving forward" and all that. "Time heals all wounds." If that's even believable. [ but there's a sigh. ] The good thing is we should be just about done. If I'm counting right, the game should be ending and maybe that'll mean we can all stop killing each other for points.
Did you guys ever even get beds in your warehouse finally? [ not important, but. ] I think wanting to sleep in your own bed's a totally valid reason to want to go home. It's like...when you go on a vacation somewhere, and at the end of it all you just want to sink back into what's familiar. Even if it's really not that special.
They gave it to you because they wanted to. So that's what matters here. At least you guys can be a little more comfortable now...even if we won't be here much longer anyway.
There's the whole thing about not looking gift horses in the mouth or whatever, but...you know. I get it.
[ . . . ]
We have two beds in our place. Three, I guess, if you count the hideaway or whatever. But you wouldn't think so with how our sleeping arrangements were for a long time. It's just one of those things you don't really think about until you do. If that makes any sense.
[ you think about how much you take for granted until you're in a place like this where you're without and have to re-earn everything. ]
Our first week here we stole a bunch of bedding and stuffed sharks from IKEA. Even after we got the first bed though we slept in that pile for a little while longer. I think we all got used to it.
Yeah. I mean I guess it was kind of a bed, but not really? It was more than a cot but less of a bed, pretty much there just to sleep on but not be too comfortable while you were there.
[ she can ask. he's truly just overexplaining the wrong point. ]
It's fine. I...it's not really a secret or anything. Just hasn't come up with most people. Didn't seem relevant to most of the stuff going on here. Most people wanted to know where I was before I got here, and the technical truth is that I was on a ferry with Alex because we were leaving Edwards Island. The further truth is that I'd just met her that day because I'd just been released a few days before that.
Yeah. I'd just moved to Camena earlier that day, so Alex brought me along for this thing her friends were doing. Some dumb tradition about spending the night on the island. What happened was the horror freakshow with the ghosts. [ haha. ] ...even if it was just that night, I think both of us feel like we've known each other a lot longer. It's made this game a lot easier on both of us, considering.

I won't tell you not to worry about it, but I'll be okay.

The cot in the detention center wasn't the most comfy thing in the world either. After sleeping on that thing for months, the floor wasn't terrible.

Detention center?

Judge decided the charges weren't strong enough for a jail sentence, but were too strong to be dropped. So...juvenile detention was the result.

Sorry, that was probably too personal.
