[ he'd been here the day before, but jonas is doing due diligent and wandering around japanifornia to check for anything new or unusual. this is how he finds himself descending the stairs to the subway platform, looking at the tunnels and seemingly waiting for a train that may or may not come.
this is also how he finds out he isn't alone, and he blinks in surprise upon recognizing her. ]
Ah, you know... [ does she. does she know? he seems to be fidgeting around in his pockets, looking down the tracks as he shrugs. ] Fine? Things are fine, even if we still don't know any more than we did yesterday. So I wanted to take a train and see if I can find anything new.
[ there's a pause. ]
How're you after yesterday? [ with your...magic...block... ]
[ it sort of feels like a faux pas to be smoking in the park, so instead he's taking a look with a cup of coffee in his hand. it's been. a weird several days, and while the park doesn't offer much, it's a decent enough change of scenery.
plus libby's not terrible to talk to, he thinks. ]
Sort of feels like a consolation prize, doesn't it?
I was sort of expecting it, so...it sounds kind of crappy to say "I'm fine" because that's not it but I can't say I'm surprised this happened already. A little surprised it was Hikari though.
[ it's entirely possible that jonas is sitting on the basketball court at the park after today's execution. there's a cigarette in his hand and he's mostly just staring out into the distance, but he at least looks over when he hears footsteps. ]
Hey Libby. [ this is a tone to convey both a greeting and also the unasked "are you as exhausted as i am" question. ]
After today, I feel like this is a less terrible option. [ he has gotten the nagging from others and so he is fine with it. there's a sigh then. ]
Which yeah. That all just happened. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to feel bad someone else had to erase her, or like we intruded on something private and weird.
It makes you wonder what other landmarks might show up in other districts, you know? So far a lot of the things that've become available to us are stuff people from a modern earth should recognize.
[ which is weird, considering they're dead, but. ]
[as probably expected, she's hanging out in the library in the morning, wandering down an aisle with a few books in her arms. what might be a little less expected is that when jonas comes close enough, he'll get a wave of both anxiety and deep, entrenched anger and resentment bordering on rage. it doesn't seem to change the way she gives him a little wave with her free hand and a smile as she sees him.]
[ nerd. he is not at all surprised to see her here, but he is a little caught off-guard by being blasted with both anxiety and anger. it means that libby gets a jolt of surprise that kind of shutters away as he waves back slowly. ]
You know, I'm not sure? Libraries and I aren't exactly close friends. [ stupid. ] But I thought maybe since it's here it might have some kind of answers for what's going on here. Or at least history about past games.
[ a glance at the books in her arms though. ]
Looks like you found some interesting stuff already though.
[there's alarm in response to that surprise, and a new sense of defensiveness coming up at the sensation that she can't explain. there's a beat of indecision, too, as she decides whether to address it or move on. after a moment:]
Oh, uh - that's a good idea. I mean, the thing about past games. [trying and failing at not sounding distracted, before:] Hey... Do you feel strange at all?
debatable. okay is a very objective term in a game like this but i figured it was only fair to check in i would've come to find you but after what happened last time, an emotions blast didn't sound that fun for anybody

[pausing for a moment as he asks, thinking over her answer.]
I don't know. There's a lot to think about, you know? [idly starts toying with a strand of hair] And not a lot of answers to find, like you said.

Not really what I was expecting, but yeah. It's cool. I've only seen pictures of the real tower so...not much to compare it to.
