Makes sense.

[Pats this animal a few more times.]

I'm not sure how often media is correct about the afterlife. Though, there is a wide spread of it, so maybe some could be right?

Isn't that how most fiction is made?

[It's not like humans have magic.]

[ Yggdrasil, Odin, the nine worlds. ]

It's interesting trying to trace back the origins of legends.

It'll be fun. Monday is one of the best times to check things out anyway.

[ Let's go walking around the North Pole with the reindeer. ]

Yggdrasil is part of Norse mythology. It's known as the sacred tree that all else revolves around. The branches reach into the heavens and the three roots reach into three other locations.

It may be considered a warden tree. A tree that's venerated for good luck. Occasionally people would make offerings to it. These sorts of trees were around until the late 19th century in places like Scandinavia and Germany. I'm not entirely sure why they fell out of favor. [ Missionaries? ]

[She seems fine in this weather, but somebody should probably get her into a coat at some point.]

There are a few gods when it comes to Norse mythology. Thor, Odin, Freyr... I haven't looked into them as deeply. I believe Odin is the god of wisdom, poetry and war. An interesting selection to oversee.

[ LWZ has her covered.

Later. ]

I don't think the gods get to pick. Humans pick and assign them these things as they go on. There could be a particular branch of poetry that Odin was over? Perhaps something regarding what is said before battle?

In some pantheons different gods share an aspect. Ares and Athena are both war gods, for example.

If you were a god, what would you want to oversee?

[Gods probably don't really exist except for on some worlds, in which case they can actually pick and choose.]

That's right. Athena is over military strategy and generalship, while Ares embodies the physical valor needed to be successful in a war.

Medicine seems like a good choice. I don't know what I would want. [ Is there a God of balance somewhere? ]

Reasonable enough.

[ A bit more consideration. ]

Dice is the goddess of justice and the spirit of moral order and fair judgement. It feels a bit presumptuous to choose her.

God of boundaries, roads and travelers, thieves, athletes, shepherds, commerce, speed, cunning, and wit. Able to move freely between the land of Gods and mortals and acts as a divine messenger.

I'm right.]

Wits are valuable in any field. Hermes is a strong choice.

There's no reason to lock yourself into just one if you don't want to.
