A lot of people say time is a simple remedy.

[ If they have it, of course. Not that it applies to Vash whose lifespan is much longer than humans', but... Time does help with reorganizing thoughts, priorities, etc. ]

Honestly, I wouldn't be able to give good advice. I'm the guy who didn't return home for ten years while still missing home.

[ he sort of just. looks at vash for a moment like he's trying to decide what to say about time, but he decides after a moment to save everything and instead skates a little figure 8 solely because he doesn't want to keep sitting still.

maybe he's not after advice. but he is curious. ]

...why didn't you go back if you missed it? Something stopped you?

[piteous]

[ There's a pause in his emotions, guilt bleeding through slowly, but poignant. More regret, longing, and loneliness. ]

I attract a lot of trouble... And I didn't want them to deal with that.

[ there's something that jonas is slowly grasping onto. it's quiet, something that's making him keep his own feelings still so that vash doesn't have to deal with both as he treads carefully with his questions. ]

Their own safety. You didn't feel like you could go back without risking things and possibly putting them in more danger. It's different when you're used to it but other people aren't.

[ he doesn't quite have the same experience, but he can vaguely understand in an offshoot sort of way. ]

But you were finally able to go back, weren't you? After those ten years.

I did and got quite an earful!

[ There's comical dread, lighthearted and fond. Whatever grave emotions are uplifted. ]

The lesson here is to at least phone home once in a while.

[ the shift is noted. but he huffs a little laugh anyway. ]

Yeah, I'll keep that in mind. [ ... haha. ] I tried to call my dad when Alex and I got to the island and we didn't have reception. Now we're here, so...guess he'll have to wait a while for me, too. Hopefully the results aren't that bad.

Still time to think about things while we're here.

[ Vash will laugh, too. ]

Time to come to terms with things, let other stuff go, and hold onto something.

[ all of this makes perfect sense. and yet, jonas takes a moment to think about it before asking another question. ]

Do you think we really have time here to think about things there? Everything feels like it happens so fast now.

[piteous]

... Things have turboed, huh.

[ Damn. Hmmm. Vash is quite serious with what he's suggesting. ]

Sometimes you just need three minutes in the morning. Better than nothing.

Turboed is a great word for it and still doesn't entirely feel like it encompasses everything. [ but he does like. consider this. for a moment. ]

...does that work for you? Do you even have three minutes?

That's how long I meditate in the morning, yeah.

[ Vash is such a creature. A quirky little guy. ]

You too? [ "too?" ] Shenhe was talking about meditation but I haven't actually gotten around to thinking about it or learning much.

Snowie definitely does it for a lot longer, but we all start out somewhere. If you ever want to give it a go, maybe we can make it a habit?

[ 3 minute meditation mornings. ]

Do any of you call each other by your actual names? [ not the point. he sort of rolls a little on the board. ] ...I'll think about it. I think I might think too much to really clear my mind or whatever.

Hey... I'm better about it than Wolfwood. You know it's sometimes a puzzle to figure out who he's talking about when he starts listing multiple people?
