When you graduate from high school, most places have a big ceremony where you sit and listen to some kids give boring speeches about how you've all grown over the last four years and how you'll never forget each other, and then there's more boring speeches from adults about how you're going off into the world to shape the future before you stand in line for a long time to walk across a stage, shake the sweaty hand of a principal or a superintendent or whatever and receive an empty folder that's supposed to have a fancy piece of paper in it but you don't get the paper until weeks later so they can make sure you didn't fail your classes.
