They're giving us actual restaurants now. What next?

[ wagyu? ]

It's not like we'd have control over what was played, but...

[ he nods. ]

I wouldn't mind that. [ for so many reasons. ]

I’ve never been close enough to a screen to pull that off. Teach always parked the car pretty far back at drive-ins.

[ would he do it though, if he could? maybe. ]

It wouldn’t surprise me. The stuff that’s been showing up has been kinda mundane? Diners, clothes shops, selfie studios… stuff you wouldn’t be surprised to see in the shopping district.

Depends, I guess. Teach’s heater was broken for a while and it was damn cold, but she still wanted to go.

[ so that wasn’t amazing. ]

Yeah, the colosseum ended up being… something. [ hey! no one died there! sort of. not as part of the thursday murder club at least. ] But it’s still something you find in a city, just not every city.

Man, imagine if it was that easy.

… Maybe. But it was a bit more complicated than that. We didn’t mind, even if it was cold. She got all excited over whatever it was we were watching, so that made it more enjoyable.

Ah. Like the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum in Rome. The canals were kind of Italian too, right? I think I’ve read about somewhere there with canals and boats.

[ hm? ]

Yeah. I grew up around the same two people for … most of my life, actually. We were used to doing things together.

This one feels more like America. The fashion style, the diners— do we count skate parks as American? But that’s the feeling so far. Europe last week, America this week…

Unless we’re totally off track.

[ well there’s… something a little complicated about shu’s emotions for a moment. just a moment, much like jonas’ emotions flickered. barely there, barely notable. ]

I guess so. It was nice while things were as they were.

People are kinda obsessed with 1950s America aesthetics because of movies and stuff like that, aren’t they? Maybe someone in charge is a fan of Gre*se? [ he leans back a little thoughtfully at the question though. ]

… Continental? [ do you think they could’ve had a

quaso? ]

[ things sure do change! sometimes (redacted) happens and wow! it's a time. ]

Maybe there's no logic to it at all, and they're just pulling whatever they can think of to give us more areas.

[ interestingly, he is more okay than some people i’ve played. relatively. ]

Just rolling dice and seeing which number comes up… Hopefully the one with a movie theatre next.

[ he is an enigma wrapped up in a mystery. ]

I like quieter spaces. I wouldn't mind a movie theatre, but whether I went there would depend on what movies were showing. I've seen some too many times in the past.

[ he'll eye the pancakes for a moment, before shaking his head and raising a hand like a thanks and acknowledgement. he's alright for the moment. i keep feeding him pancakes this week, help ]

... I'm not sure what else. It's not pulling directly from our memories, otherwise maybe it'd be nice to see Carmen's place.

Creepier than them apparently having an iron grip on our souls?

[ because thaaaat is kinda creepier to him. not that he really wants to sit down and think about it overmuch. ]

Carmen is a lot. [ imagine if that was all he said. ] She runs a bar we go to a lot. I guess she's a friend of the group? Fancies herself as a business woman. She's good in some ways and terrible at it in others.

[ please observe her, i love her ]

[ she is perfect, no notes. ]

See?

I would rather the bar without the staff, but the familiarity would be nice. Not sure how they’d do food there though, Carmen’s a crap cook.
