[ fascinating. he pauses just briefly to consider this and rolls over it right after.
"things change." is what he settles on and doesn't press it. ]
Never even considered that. Obviously this place was built by somebody and it's pulling from all sorts of places, but...trying to find any reason to it doesn't seem to be working.
Somehow that sounds a lot more likely than really putting thought into it week by week. Especially if supposedly it's already all there and we just can't see it.
We can only dream, man. [ ...since shu is here, he spins his plate of pancakes a little closer and nudges a fork over. if he wants. ] If we're dreaming big, what else would you even want?
[ he's sort of just...trying to get a read on shu in general. for as often as he talks to the guy, he does feel like he doesn't know much about it and it shows in the brief flicker of curious emotions. ]
I like quieter spaces. I wouldn't mind a movie theatre, but whether I went there would depend on what movies were showing. I've seen some too many times in the past.
[ he'll eye the pancakes for a moment, before shaking his head and raising a hand like a thanks and acknowledgement. he's alright for the moment. i keep feeding him pancakes this week, help ]
... I'm not sure what else. It's not pulling directly from our memories, otherwise maybe it'd be nice to see Carmen's place.
but he shrugs about the pancakes and pulls them back toward him, not at all offended by the turn-down. instead, he seems more focused on what shu is saying, taking this into consideration. he can get behind the idea of quieter spaces. quiet is fine. he kind of likes quiet himself, sometimes, when people are constantly all over the place. there isn't a verbal response, but there's a noise that seems to say "yeah, that makes sense."
he hadn't even thought about pulling from their memories, actually, and he raises both eyebrows in thought. ]
It'd be a little creepy if they could. [ but not too bad. they're already dead. people just went on some fuckall trip to liyue somehow. it's possible. ] Who's Carmen?
Creepier than them apparently having an iron grip on our souls?
[ because thaaaat is kinda creepier to him. not that he really wants to sit down and think about it overmuch. ]
Carmen is a lot. [ imagine if that was all he said. ] She runs a bar we go to a lot. I guess she's a friend of the group? Fancies herself as a business woman. She's good in some ways and terrible at it in others.
Hey, just because one thing is creepier does not mean the other thing wouldn't also be creepy. [ he points that out, but he listens to the explanation. ] Sounds like someone you don't mind that much if you keep going to her bar. Which, also, would not be the worst thing to have here either. So you might be on to something else with that.
Don't say that. They might come up with a shadow version of her somehow for extra creep factor. [ it's a joke but also. what if. ] The good thing is we have a few people here who seem to know what they're doing in a kitchen. Could just outsource to them.
I think a shadow version that's sort of like them but isn't might be a little worse, but that's just me. But if you don't think too hard about it I guess it could work.
[ making a face at that... ]
Yeah, who is buying these things? I keep seeing stoves and fridges and stuff being sold out before I even knew they were for sale to begin with.

Maybe there's no logic to it at all, and they're just pulling whatever they can think of to give us more areas.

Just rolling dice and seeing which number comes up… Hopefully the one with a movie theatre next.

See?
I would rather the bar without the staff, but the familiarity would be nice. Not sure how they’d do food there though, Carmen’s a crap cook.

[ a win, generally speaking. ]
We don't really have access to food to cook ourselves though. Unless you want to buy the equipment and pay for the ingredients from the reapers.
