It felt...more targeted, probably, is why. It's a good reminder that people are paying attention to each other.

Neither Buzen or Matsui would say why Rin was the one he went after. [ … ] But you’re not wrong. Everyone’s being friendly, but the more you offer of yourself to people, the more they can learn about you.

It’s not a bad thing normally, but here it could be.

Yeah, I couldn't get an answer out of anybody either and now we're never going to know. [ which is depressing. ]

It's what makes things like that secret-sharing rule dangerous. They specified it can't be on your own team, so you're opening yourself up to getting in trouble and giving a different team stuff to use against you. Especially when there's already people who are too honest.

Maybe that's better for some people. Not everyone, but ignorance is kinda bliss for some people.

Depends on what you share. Talking about Teach is technically a secret, because I haven't shared info about her. But it's not like people can use her to hurt me, or attack me.

Considering I have no idea who that is? You're right. It's not anything that can be used against you...especially if you're controlling how much you actually share about her. [ there's a short grin. ] And a good workaround for doing the rule.

Don't most people? [ this isn't even sarcasm, this is kind of a genuine question. ] It sort of feels weirder when you don't get a choice of how much people get to know about you.

Some people are practical about it. If you’re in the news a lot, or your past is you can only really control what you confirm about the narrative.

Yeah. I get that. If your reputation precedes you or whatever, you have to work against it for what people can and can't know about you.

Mm. People are nosy too, so controlling what you let out in the public is… complicated, but better than just letting everything out all at once.

Some people are really good at that too.

Within reason. Some people take it to the level of manipulative asshole. Or an obsession.

Everyone’s got flaws, hiding them’s just creepy.

And depending on the flaws that leans right into devious. [ in a place like here. it all loops right back to that. ]

Yup. Y’know when someone seems a little too perfect? It puts you on edge. That kind of thing.

Because you can't actually tell what they're thinking and it makes them even more suspicious? Yeah. Yeah, totally.

Or, it’s just creepy because they become obsessed with it. [ he wobbles a hand. ] So. Moderation.

The good thing is we probably won't have to worry about that too much here. Too much other stuff going on.
