[ he's fine, it's fine. but huh. okay. you know what actually he doesn't really mind the repeat of info because it means it's more likely true than someone misunderstanding something. so he's pretty pleased. ]
Right. Which...people were speculating on that for a long time. Some of us were thinking some of your letters were trying to tell us we forgot something which I'm gonna guess, now, is that we forgot how we died because we never actually were dead.
So even if you're dead, you're not actually erased-erased because you're in a plane in-between. Are you...this is gonna sound stupid, and you might not even be able to answer, but bear with me on this. Are you guys using our points somehow for whatever you're trying to do? One of you mentioned that a team wipe would actually be better for the ultimate goal, so I assume that has something to do with the points, but I don't know if...can you still earn points for your team if you're not quite out-out?
[ he's trying to speculate just how involved their erased are in terms of keeping things afloat. sometimes you just conspiracy theory to rule things out before working on an answer. ]
huh. there's a beat where he looks at Jonas in surprise, then he smiles.]
...You know, we still do a lot of the same stuff we did when we were alive? We have those events on Wednesday, and we can vote during trials. Our votes don't affect your side though, so you'd think we wouldn't bother doing it... I know I wouldn't bother, if there wasn't something else in it for me.
Really. [ okay. that's. that's something. ] And to get through those missions and stuff...you probably still need to have access to your psychs? Seems kind of unfair to be without them. There's a few times I would've probably erased myself if I didn't have Drift. Um. Shenhe mentioned you guys have also had people disappear on those special missions, too. Which...listen, I thought it was weird the first time she mentioned it because you shouldn't be getting pulled into those things if you're out of the game, but some things are making a little more sense. Plus Nahida mentioned you guys can see the trials and the erasures. First time I'm hearing about voting though. And you're right. You wouldn't bother if there wasn't a benefit.
[ food for thought. ]
Though I'm curious what that might mean for BDSM specifically. [ since they got wiped first? ]
[jonas out there like 'i'm not smart' and he managed to pick on so much already HELLO, at that he laughs,]
We're benched, unfortunately. Just sitting on the sidelines, watching the rest work hard. Sweet Theory too now -- but they had some time before, you know?
[if his smile is a little more pointed when he says sweet theory it's fine he definitely does not hold an unhinged grudge about it now]
[ yeah that happens. but he does frown a little at that because it's been weeks and he's still pretty frustrated! at the team wipe! so early!! ]
Hence how we're doing the lion's share of work. I get it. Sweet Theory lasted up until this last weekend, I think they're probably fine. Guess it's the same for Yuneyuze, too. [ he does not know how to really articulate that the only person from sweet theory he got really close to was kyoko anyway, so he doesn't. and he likes yuneyuze okay, but he doesn't know most of them as well as he'd like. ] We've been told that Thursday erasures won't count anymore, basically, but there's still time and ways to earn other points throughout the week. They're revealing the rankings already though and...us sliding so far down makes more sense now, too.
And yet even being benched, there's something in it for you. [ squint. ] Can you guys see our rankings, actually?
[rang handshake jonas over kyoko being his favorite sweet theory member... though he still has complicated feelings for her and fei du. he doesn't care for libby and lwz just shows up as yiguo whenever he thinks about him,]
Yup. There's a big board that actually goes into detail.
[he thinks jonas can figure out what the most important detail is,]
I'd tell you, but that part's hush hush. Too bad. [rang would if he could bc he loves drama] Instead, I'll tell you that my time as a dead person has been very fulfilling.
[thanks rang]
I've even learned to look at the bigger picture, you know? So instead of focusing on teams... it's like we're one big family. We can't use team psychs either, even the people who still have members on your side. So it's like we're just one big... group.
[ the way this scares both him and i into thinking it's not froggy, and unfortunately he mutters: ] If it really is Justice still I'm going to lose my mind.
[regardless. he takes this into consideration. ]
One...big, happy family. Sharing all the resources you earn together and splitting things amongst yourselves while being at the same base level. [ what the absolute hell does that mean for the living though? ] That means that you guys probably have teams you want to actually see succeed, right? Are they the same as ours?
[ were the dead satisfied with the results of last weekend...? ]
[ he has to think about this, actually, because his answer fluctuates. ]
I mean...at this rate, Froggy's ahead. Most people have put their trust in them. It's a safe bet to want them to win. Even if it's a lot of pressure for Haru and Ylfa. But to be honest I think it's easier to mention who I don't want to see win, personally.
[ ... ]
I'll be honest. I'll go with the majority as needed, as long as I get what I want and I can try to barter for something else I want. Not that I have a leg to stand on, but if people have more points to spare then maybe I can make a deal with them, too.
I'll say this. That looking at where we are right now -- it doesn't look like you'll have to barter at all.
[a beat, then]
But whatever choice you think we have to make deals or bargains... we don't have it. That's all up to the winning team. They get the final say, as the winners.
...that's promising, but you don't even know what I'm trying to barter for, man. [ but the way he says it seems to imply that it's something he feels he has to figure out himself later and not waste precious time here. he'd rather focus on rang at the moment. ]
But no, I know. The Reapers have reminded us that the winning team members are the only people who get to choose. That's what I'm saying though. As long as the winners are people I can trust to try and go a step further on some stuff I'm okay with that. Even if they can't actually do it.
[rang like i hope jonas isn't going to barter for something stupid like staying behind and letting others live................ :/ no he just makes a 'that's fair' sort of gesture, then]
[ I hate to say this but he likes rang enough that he could ask if he wanted. jonas just assumes he does not need or want details.
the question is a little complicated though. ]
Less than before. But I can trust them enough if someone else is watching and working with them. I believe they have good intentions. I can't say the same for certain factors or certain people on their team.
[JONAS!!!!!! RANG THOUGHT HE WAS KEEPING IT A SECRET OR SOMETHING!!!]
You mean Simon? [imagine jonas was like no actually i hate fukuzawa the most.
rang looks amused,]
That's fair. I thought what he did was funny, [thanks rang] but I also wanted him dead, in case he went after Haru or Ylfa. You and Setsu really pulled through for us.
[please don't compliment someone on their murders]
[ looks at what happened today. well. may not be relevant now. hard to say. but currently he still wants the thing.
also. yeah! ]
Simon is one of those things, yeah. I can't exactly congratulate a guy for going after his own teammate to double up on points. Taking out Fukuzawa just meant they didn't earn extra points for getting away with Zelda's murder, so whatever. Maybe it is a good thing. [ ... ] To be honest, we were already planning on it before all of your letters came in. We just got delayed by a week.
Setsu told me as much, that they were willing to do whatever it took to win. [which he likes about setsu, au where setsu erased rang] But they were less clear about the rest of you.
That's because Setsu takes on too much themselves. [ he seems mildly annoyed, but like the kind where you are just worried. ] ...part of it was I didn't want them acting alone. We were already starting to fall behind in rankings, and...I wanted to make sure my team would be okay. We kind of all knew we wouldn't be able to catch up, but we had to try. Plus, for a while, we thought Simon killed Lambda and then even when he didn't we learned about Fukuzawa and decided it was still a valid play.
Mostly I was trying to protect my team as best as I could. Earn points for leverage, try to keep us afloat, and take out a threat. That's all there was to it.

rang makes a little 'dingdong' noise since jonas is correct,]
Well, we're actually dead for one, since we got erased here. But the rest of you are still alive -- you were never dead in the first place, actually.
[he's not sure if jonas knows that already sometimes u do meetings and no one decides on who's telling who what]
