I'm sure I saw a ton in the library. They're quick reads with certain story tropes like "I fell into a sewer and ended up in a fantasy world!" or "Last Night My Neighbor Got Turned Into A Cat and I Accidentally Adopted Them". They're very popular in asia and there's a whole subsection online for people to write their own. Those, however, can go over a million words and more.
A million words. [ that's. that's too many, thank you. ] I guess...if I ever run out of stuff to do here, I'll go back to the library and see what I can find. Tropes aren't always so bad, you know? There's a reason they're popular and keep showing up.
That's legitimately what I've been doing. [ he doesn't fingergun but the vibe is there ] It's truly a strange experience being a ghost in your own home.
[ has he.... vr'd his old modern apartment? maybe so! ]
I don't think anybody's gonna call you out on it, you know? Most of us are probably missing things that're familiar. And...if anybody has an excuse I'd say you've got a good one.
I meant the idea behind it, not actually telling people what it is you actually miss. [ a beat. ] Even if the place isn't accessible anymore that's even more of a reason to visit it here while you can. I've thought about going back to my old house from before my dad and I moved. Just to see if I remember everything.
...I think some people go back and forth on that. If they'd rather have people they know here or not. Most people are glad they aren't because it means they're safe, but...it also means possibly never seeing them again. Which sort of sucks.
To be honest? It's not like there's much about this game that's great so I'm not sure why I thought anything would be worth considering. At least in that vein of thought.
Yeah. It's probably been a really long time since you've been able to talk to people who aren't a part of the novel, hasn't it? Does that ever freak you out?

Exactly. They're pretty lighthearted too so it'd definitely be a nice distraction in a hell place like this.

It's not particularly something I want to be announcing. Not to mention...I shouldn't be anyway. That place, that time isn't accessible anymore.

Who needs to remember a shrine to Binghe when I can recall the person himself?
no subject
Have you actually tried creating a person in the VR system? I mean I assume you meant remember in the metaphorical sense, but...in general.

He ah.... glitches. Between the Binghe of the novel and the Binghe I raised.
[ truly not in the mood to find out if a vr copy of bing-ge can reach out and rip off a limb thank yooooooooou ]

[ or less murderous, whichever. ]

Mm. I only tried the once and very quickly realized this was probably a bad idea.
[ even if he misses seeing binghe's stupid puppy face ]

Tough break, man. Too bad there isn't really a way around that...it'd be kind of nice to have the option.

[ 😩 the idea of his sticky bun going SHIZUN DON'T LEAVE ME even in vr. aiyah. ]

As if our stress levels aren't bad enough already. Maybe not adding to them is a good idea.

Though I'm sure you'd see me sprout gray hairs in real time if I had been cursed to have him present here as well.

I would imagine. Truly, either way, the options aren't that great.

I suppose the human connection has been pretty nice but otherwise, it's certainly been a disaster.

The author is stuck in there with me but honestly, I'd rather suffer another 30 years of plant nonsense than deal with that bastard.
