Ghost boy and his dog made my dad lose his job, made us lose the house, and made me lose everything else I had left. Then I got given a bunch of ghost hunting gear and went out to get back at him for it.

I mean...I'm pretty sure that's always the way. You have crappy circumstances and you eventually hit the rock bottom, but then in order to make anything of it at all you have to claw you way back up to where you want to be. Sort of like...building from the ground up.

Is that why you want to get back? To recover stuff for you and your dad and keep doing the hunting thing?
I mean...I do still want that, yeah. But I've got bigger things to worry about now. I'm like...the only good ghost hunter the town has. And some big stuff just happened that I can't leave unfinished.
You get that not many places have actual ghost hunters, right? [ a light reminder. ] ...but I get that. It sort of feels even worse getting torn away from it when you know there's stuff to fix. If you know how to fix it and how to finish it, that is.
[ he's used to people being annoyed and frustrated with him, so he doesn't seem to think much of it. ]

[ it's mostly because valerie wants to get home, but jonas is of the opinion that you should be working well with your team to be in sync and manage it. plus given what happened with mizuki earlier it's worth checking. ]

I'm glad it led me to ghost-hunting. I love doing it. But I wish it didn't have to come with losing everything first.
