Well we do have the fake Eiffel tower and the canals. Maybe this is just an add-on of that? More of the whole "it looks like a place you probably know, if you squint."
I mean that's what I always thought. I barely know how to handle real horses. I don't want to try with winged ones. [ the flashlight sweeps over a few more skulls embedded in the walls. ]
...you think these ones hold real people? [ or are these all figments for aesthetics...? ]
Most of these places seem "real" -- even if we're not able to fully interact with it and the people in them. I don't see a reason why this wouldn't be real.
Probably because it opens up a lot of other questions for me. Like...I still have no idea what planet we're on. Not that it matters, but it also kind of matters? I've been thinking a lot lately about how we got here. It's still an unsolved mystery.
Maybe...if anything so we can at least know how to get back to where we came from. It's always been an information game to figure out what does and doesn't matter.

I've never actually been in a place like this before.

[ pfft. ]
I think they're more a thing in Europe? There's meant to be one in Paris, I know that much.

More skulls? Spooky skeletons jumping out at us?

After everything, that feels kinda tame. I'm almost disappointed. [ famous last words when people are eaten by giant slugs later this week. ]
